The difference between a digital piano and a keyboard:
It often happens that people mistake a digital piano for a keyboard. Both instruments can be connected to a computer and produce electronic sounds. Although the instruments have some similarities, they are very different instruments.
For example, keyboards often contain 49 or 61 keys. A digital piano often has 76 or 88 keys. In addition, the keys of a digital piano are imitated from an acoustic piano. This makes the keys heavier and provide much more resistance than the keys on a keyboard. This allows you to retain certain sounds for longer on a digital piano using pedals. This is not possible with a keyboard, partly because a keyboard does not have pedals. On a keyboard, every sound has the same length.
In addition to the fact that there is a big difference in the black of the keys on a digital piano and a keyboard, there is also a difference in the touch sensitivity. For example, a digital piano is touch sensitive, while a keyboard is not. This means that when a key is pressed lightly on a digital piano, the sound of that key will also be softer. On the other hand, the sound will be louder when you press the keys harder. This is not the case with a keyboard and every key will produce the same sound, regardless of whether they are pressed harder or softer.
Finally, keyboards are often placed on a keyboard stand or base, making them playable and transportable without a base. In most cases, digital pianos are placed on a base that contains standard pedals. Because a keyboard is not necessarily on a stand, it is a lot lighter and easy to transport. Despite this, both instruments are quite easy to move.
